The Education Department predicts that the finalized rules will be released sometime in the fall. However, the MAP that shows the path needed for loan forgiveness was released late last Thursday evening...

I can tell you that my son who just graduated, has $18K in loans, worked all through school to pay for the remainder and did 2 years at a branch during the Covid lockdowns is not happy about this. He knows that he will never qualify for any of these “forgiveness” programs and will end up paying for his classmates’ loans who weren’t as responsible as he was.

A better idea is to force the school to be the co-signer of the loan.

If the student defaults, they get a hit to their credit for 7 years but the school needs to pay the loan back in full to the lender.

Sadly, it can be said at least Americans are getting this money while everything has been going to tens of millions of foreigners lately.
