Moved out of an apartment in Louisville in February 2021 and the rent was $600 a month. Moved back to the same apartment building in March 2024 and the rent is $950 a month. A $350 a month increase in three years! That’s a 63% increase in three years! I moved out of the apartment 10 days into Biden’s term.

“I moved out of the apartment 10 days into Biden’s term.”

Excellent you can equate that part of it is due to government actions. Many just say, “Oh, that’s just inflation.” I live in Washington State. You were dealing with an apartment which many times is controlled economy which is so highly inflated now. I own my own home. It is not being paid for so all the government needs don’t need to be touched in their file cabinet. They don’t do anything with it as it is a manufactured home sitting on some else’s lot I lease in an over 55 that controls it’s own road repairs. Yet the state taxes for the home go up every year last year 30% and this year 25%. So the questions come out:

Why am I paying taxes for something that has nothing to do with them?

Why do they go up each year when nothing has changed so why are they receiving an award to do nothing?

Now, of course people might say there is a tax on the land. Yep, and I pay the owner of the land as poart of my lease with my percentge of the money on his land and then the government taxes both of us again. Thus mine is only based upon the house. So my little consideration is taxed twice by numbers determined by the government.

If I don’t pay the owner the tax consideration, he will have to raise the rent on everyone to recoup the loss other wise he’s out of business and I’m out of a place to put my home. They used to call that blackmail whether the government calls it state taxes or not. Ponzi. Why does the government need to raise taxes over 55% in two years to pay for nothing?
