Mass. Sen. Warren rolls out half-trillion-dollar plan to tackle US housing crisis

With Massachusetts still in the grip of a crushing housing affordability and access crisis, one Bay State lawmaker says she has a plan to help.

Legislation sponsored by U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., would spend roughly a half-trillion dollars to encourage the construction of new housing, bring down costs for renters, and make it easier for first-time buyers and veterans to purchase homes, among other fixes.

"The only way to dig our country out of this housing crisis is to build more housing so everyone has a place to call home,” Warren, who is running for re-election this fall, said of the bill dubbed the “American Housing and Economic Mobility Act.

The legislation, a reboot of an earlier version, will “make bold investments in our country’s housing and encourage local innovation to lower housing costs even more — and it’s all paid for by getting America’s wealthiest families to chip in,” Warren continued.

Dozens of nonprofit and advocacy groups also have thrown their support to the legislation, Warren’s office said in its statement.

Spreading Bull ignores 10s of millions of illegal invaders on welfare housing take up cheap housing. I earn low six figures and couldn’t possibly hope to buy another house in my region. BUT illegals get bussed in and magically have a place to live.

“I moved out of the apartment 10 days into Biden’s term.”

Excellent you can equate that part of it is due to government actions. Many just say, “Oh, that’s just inflation.” I live in Washington State. You were dealing with an apartment which many times is controlled economy which is so highly inflated now. I own my own home. It is not being paid for so all the government needs don’t need to be touched in their file cabinet. They don’t do anything with it as it is a manufactured home sitting on some else’s lot I lease in an over 55 that controls it’s own road repairs. Yet the state taxes for the home go up every year last year 30% and this year 25%. So the questions come out:

Why am I paying taxes for something that has nothing to do with them?

Why do they go up each year when nothing has changed so why are they receiving an award to do nothing?

Now, of course people might say there is a tax on the land. Yep, and I pay the owner of the land as poart of my lease with my percentge of the money on his land and then the government taxes both of us again. Thus mine is only based upon the house. So my little consideration is taxed twice by numbers determined by the government.

If I don’t pay the owner the tax consideration, he will have to raise the rent on everyone to recoup the loss other wise he’s out of business and I’m out of a place to put my home. They used to call that blackmail whether the government calls it state taxes or not. Ponzi. Why does the government need to raise taxes over 55% in two years to pay for nothing?

If *you* were a Democrat, you could vote in MA despite living in WA.

“55% in two years”

I’m hopin’ outrage over all this may result in a Trump landslide by people who aren’t being honest with pollsters. Sad fact is though, the electorate keeps voting this misery upon themselves nationally and in the states. I compare the electorate to a low self-esteem, co-dependent woman who keeps getting beaten by her boyfriend but keeps saying he really loves her and will change.

“make bold investments”

EQUALS = Raise your taxes and give the money to people who do not work.

Squaw “Stands With Her Head Up Her A$$” has spoken.

500 billion dollars is a lot of wampum.
Where is this loon going to get half a trillion dollars?
A tax rate of 90%?

That sounds more like the price for starting a new housing crisis.

I don’t have to read it to know that it’s a massive tax increase to fund a government boondoggle. Fauxcahantas is the anthesis of what the founding fathers intended this nation to be. Founded by geniuses run by socialist morons. Maybe the next time she visits her wigwam she’ll tip over in her birch bark canoe and drown

It’s always a way for them to steal from the people.

Outlaw ownership of single family homes, by wall at and hedge funds, and I’m betting prices will start dropping as they already are.

And that won’t cost $500,000,000,000

Another example of democrats creating a “crisis” by allowing in illegals and then wanting to use our money to “fix” the crisis by giving it to their friends. Warren is one of the worst and corrupt politicos at this game.

“They used to call that blackmail”

Technically I believe what they are doing to you is part extortion and part protection racket.

I don’t know it that makes you feel any better.
