Less than 12 hours after his initial post on X, Kyle Rittenhouse took back his comment saying he was going to write in Ron Paul because "Trump was not pro-gun enough."
Rittenhouse commented on the post, "You must stand by your principles."
He then made another post saying "No compromise means no compromise."
However, less than 12 hours later, Rittenhouse pinned a new post to the top of his X account claiming he had talked to Trump's team and was taking back his comments:
”Over the past 12 hours, I've had a series of productive conversations with members of the Trump's team and I am confident he will be the strong ally gun owners need to defend our Second Amendment rights.
My comments made last night were ill-informed and unproductive. I'm 100% behind Donald Trump and encourage every gun owner to join me in helping send him back to the White House.

He needs to go be one of Cameltoe’s “White As Cotton Dudes for Harris”. Keep threatening to not vote for Trump. Your friends in the far-left Nazi “media” love it when you do that.
Read the article. He reversed his previous position.
All I can think is that he’s still very young, reads too much mainline press hatred, and is afraid of being ridiculed by people who are taking advantage of him.
Forced to kill in self-defense. Endured a criminal trial. Savaged by the media for being a "racist, fascist." Still facing civil trials. And death threats.
Yeah, I think whomever is in his circle was influencing him in such a way. He’s young, but is lucky he’s big enough that his opinion matters, so the counter arguments will make there way to him.
Hey, if Border Czar Harris can walk away from every position she’s ever held why not this kid. Flip Flopping is now a sign of greatness according to the media. I wonder if there will be any policy discussions at the Rat convention.
I understand his kneejerk concern due to Trump’s bump stock misstep. However, he came to understand that the alternative is much, much worse.
This kid has a sub 100 IQ based on every interview I’ve ever seen with him, and his 15 minutes was up several years ago. Why is he still getting attention and who cares what he thinks?
And then turned on those who supported him the most. Then when called out, loses followers like Catturd in the social media world, Kyle suddenly walks it all back.
Yes at a young age he saw tragedy. Yes at a young age he had to fight for his freedom from a two tier justice system. Yes he was young, scared and impressionable. But in his corner was Donald J Trump and millions of MAGA voters, supporting him, giving him money, praying for him. Yet he stabs each one in the back. This isn’t conjecture or opinion. He stabbed President Trump and MAGA in the back after everything we did for him.
So honestly, how much slack do we give Kyle before we start looking like a well used door mat? When does the next betrayal happen? This guy needs to shut his mouth. He needs to get off social media. He needs to mature and stop allowing others to do his thinking.
My give a damn about this guy is busted. And that’s sad because I’d like to think I’m big enough to give him a second chance. But when trust is gone, so are second chances.
[[My comments made last night were ill-informed and unproductive. I’m 100% behind Donald Trump and encourage every gun owner to join me in helping send him back to the White House. ]]
Good on you Kyle! That is the proper response 100%- we can all feel super sure of something, but because of ignorance abput the subject, ie not knowing certain facts, we could be wrong and should own up to it if that is the case- which it appears that you have done so! Way to step up to the plate and admit you made a mistake. God bless you sir
+ agree
Another nothingburger.
He’s entitled to his opinion and who he votes for is his prerogative.
Time for Kyle to grow up. No more excuses and he can thank all of the people who stood up and supported him.
This is not the way to do that.
Exactly. So why did he provide Harris’ “media” turd rollers with him saying that in the first place? The fact that he said he isn’t voting for Trump puts him right in The Liz Cheney, Mittens Romney and George Conway camp. Some stuff you can’t take back when the “media” is making hay with it.
Problem is that he wasn’t firm in his opinion.
Kyle needs to get a job, get out of desiring media attention, and start becoming an adult.
Only because he lost so many followers.
