The first U.S.-designed F-16 fighter jets have now arrived in Ukraine, it has been widely reported, but the government in Kyiv remains tight-lipped about the aircraft it has spent so long pleading for.
The Foreign Minister of Lithuania has apparently confirmed the arrival of F-16 multi-role jet fighters in Ukraine, following days of anonymous source but unsubstantiated statements the long-anticipated aircraft had arrived.
The Associated Press stated this week they had news of the arrival of F-16s from Ukrainian officials who couldn’t speak on record because they have been ordered not to discuss publicly. Reuters meanwhile said the same of its U.S. government sources.

Why is it taking this long?
It’s been at least 6 months since I heard the decision to send them F-16s.
big bribes and payoffs take longer to clear?
So they got a couple of F-16s. They have no trained pilots yet, and the ones in the pipeline are 6 months behind in their training because they first have to learn English before they can be taught how to operate the weapon system.
They also don’t have trained ground crew who can prep the aircraft for flying, nor trained maintenance personnel to keep the aircraft functional, nor enough spare parts.
This is yet another of Biden’s hairbrained schemes along the lines of the disastrous Gaza floating pier idea that falls apart in every wind storm.
Bingo!!
The Ruskies will now have more target practice. That's just what the Ukies need: more of our goodies that can be destroyed.
“Kyiv Remains Circumspect”
************************************
Well….DUHHH! Mama always said don’t brag about your assets and the phrase “Loose lips sink ships” was around long before I was born.
Joe has an established pattern of giving US hardware (and lives) away.
Time is limited.
All that you said was what I was thinking......it’s not like a car where you just get in and drive it.
A whole lot of things have to be in place before a a fighter jet can actually fly a sortie.
“Out of an abundance of circumspection, we’ll not be commenting about or yet using the first F-16s given to us by the US President Drooling Spoon, which makes us a target for the first use of Russian tactical nukes in this start of World War III”, said one of the last remaining billionaire officials of Ukraine.
Item:
To my great surprise, with all the tanks and motorized equipment running around Ukraine, their oil consumption continues the falling trend that has been in place for decades.
Yes, they had many people flee to become refugees elsewhere, but that was 2022. Their 2023 oil consumption is below 2022, and one can make a case for their transport activity having increased from 2022.
Point being, cutting of oil imports to Ukraine by Russia’s air (missile) assets is clearly not an easy thing to do — most probably because there just is not much of it. F16s will burn more fuel, but in an overall sense, to my great surprise, war is not a big oil consumer — if your civilian population flees.
Too little too late.
It’s as if someone wants the war to stay in limbo forever just to siphon off some of the money being sent there.
The Normandy landings took two and a half years to prepare. Same with this delivery. Did it take all that time for the pilots to be trained? No. The developments in both cases influenced the timeline. We will fight to the last Ukrainian as long as it takes out Vlad for maximum effect.
Timeline November 6. Should President-elect Trump arrange a meeting with the 2 belligerents in a neutral place(Reykjavik) and hash it out without asking permission? Both belligerents are more ready to settle now and only the US can make the settlement permanent.
A weakened Russia can then worry about China.
Ukraine is more like Afghanistan, than it is Normandy, and by orders of magnitude.
Joe is going to give away what he can, while he can.
Ping.

absolutely correct!!! this was all for show...in a previous life I was an F-16 maintainer and we went through a LOT of FTD (Field Training Detachment) training, on-the-job training, you name it before we even touched an F-16...how will these Uke maintainers, who probably speak little English, going to understand the T.O.s (Technical Orders), AFMs (Air Force Manuals), etc. needed to maintain these “birds”....all for show....
Even if these planes ever were taken out by Russian forces, that news would never be reported to the American public by our media. Our media is basically operated by the deep state.
Really fighting to win is less profitable to the "defense" industry.
And if Israel did go under, whoever replaced them will definitely still be good customers.
