First one to run out of juice mid chase or burst into flames wins a new toaster.
E vehicles don’t have the durability for police work. They’ll be a mess in no time.

This is going to be rich.
Another history-making day in California!
So if the cop cars start a wildfire, how do they that all out?
My fathe was a cop in Pasadena ,CA ,way back around 1953 .I believe the patrol cars were Fords, it has been years since I have seen the pictures.
Tried installing a UHF/VHF and HF rig in a friends Tesla a few years back. That Tesla produced so much interference in the receive of those radios we abandoned trying. No amount of RF Choking fixed the problem.
Sadly, the voters in Pasadena who know better are outnumbered by the ones who think they know better.
I wonder how they handle PIT maneuvers—hope they don’t explode into flames.
How long is the extension cor d?
Pasadena had better fire up a couple old coal powerplants to fuel their new EV cop cars, solar panels aren’t gonna do it.
South Pasadena is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 25,619, up from 24,292 in the 2000 census. It is located in West San Gabriel Valley. It is 3.42 square miles (8.9 km2)
I suspect golf carts would do the job with 3.4 sq miles to patrol.
Zero emissions???…now the cops will never show up…
The only one that wins in this is Elon Musk by selling him these glorified golf carts.
It has a wind turbine on the roof, chops birds mid pursuit, then detonates in a massive battery burn upon contacting something slightly more solid than a prius.
It’s about the feelz.
Back in the 1970s, Kalifornia police adopted the idiotic Chrysler K cars. They could not catch a commuter bus, let alone a criminal.
“Remember, what happens first in California happens later on all over America.”
——Gov. Gavin Newsom to fans the night he was informed he had survived the recall drive.
This stupidity is in line with the cities that went to electric bussing or the car rental company that bought a gob of electrics. - Utter failure.
Just about anything these days can be hacked. Some smart crook will figure out how to get into these things digital wise and get them to to short out and burn up. If it weren’t for the life threatening facets, it would be quite funny to watch a bank heist with all the cop cars bursting into flames as the bad guys get away in their F150’s.
