Ukraine has a long history since 1991 of defaulting on their debt, to both the IMF, EU, etc….
With the state of their country and wide spread corruption- their debt will NEVER be repaid. They will go into full blown default, ( they already are) after many attempts to kick the can down the road…..best part? The EU and collective West eats all the debt ( losses) unless vegetable head Joe uses US taxpayers money to again bail them out?

“This freeze expires on August 1, with the bonds’ coupon payment due in 2026”
Trump had better win, or guess which countries taxpayers will be paying this ? (hint, not Ukrainian)

The lack of paved roads in much of the country makes it difficult for Russia to take them over.

Joe the vegetable will bail them out, with our money.

We are getting to the end game to where the Ukraine has been heading for the last year or so.
They are on track for a simultaneous military, industrial and general economic collapse which is what happens when you stubbornly string things out to the bitter end.
Zelensky is playing chicken with the EU and the United States - give us money and arms or get blamed for our downfall.

Vlad is taking only his ethnic Russian provinces back. When the Ukies violated the signed Minsk Agreements and started shelling the Donbass back in 2014, what else would happen?
He will gladly rebuild the Donbass,( look at Marioupol), the West can rebuild the western half with their piles of debt.

Ukraine joins China in defaulting on debt.
China owes American bondholders over $1 trillion in debt that China quit paying on after China became communist.

The USA and EU need to give them $$ a couple billion - so they can pay off their debts to the USA and EU.

Hitler stopped paying WWI reparations when he took power. It took Germany almost 100 years to pay them off. As I’ve asked on other threads, if they can’t pay their loans, where are they going to get the required money to fund their own defense, which is a NATO requirement.

We are getting to the end game to where the Ukraine has been heading for the last year or so.
I thought the end-game was reached 2 years ago, shortly after Russia invaded and Ukraine was lost for certain.
Yet, here we are 2.5 years later, and Russia and Ukraine are in a stalemate, with no one gaining any advantage.
Russia knows they are in a stalemate, and they know that Ukraine got its hands on F-15s, which can be a game changer in the air and in the battlefield. Russia also knows that the American election is less than 4 months away and that Trump has a very strong chance of being president again, which would be very detrimental to Russia's chances in the war.
So, as it stands, according to the Russia defenders here, Russia is winning and Ukraine is losing. But, that's been the case for more than 2 years. 10 years from now, the war will still be getting won by Russia and Ukraine will be hopelessly lost, but, with Russia still holding less than 20% of Ukraine. A stalemate does not equal victory for any side, and it's not what anybody bargained for.
The Putin/Russia supporters need to update their cheering, since, they've been cheering with the same comments and glee for more than 2 years, with no real gains on the battlefield.
Russia is doing better in the Olympics than they are in Ukraine. ;)

"The lack of paved roads in much of the country makes it difficult for Russia to take them over."
There were plenty of unpaved roads in WWII all over Europe, but Russia, the U.S., the Brits, and our other allies managed to get their asses where they needed to go to to defeat Nazi Germany, Italy, etc.

They'll probably settle for a case of Ukraine vodka.
