Where have we been? Fighting like he’ll against a moderate establishment, a biased media behemoth, an unaccepting popular culture, disintegrating education & crumbling institutions. We pushed for & won a conservative majority on the Supreme Court & the overturning of Roe V Wade. We have been fighting a daily uphill battle from the beginning, working our asses off, showing up, voting, volunteering, donating money we didn’t have. We’ve been doing that our entire lives. This is a huge part of what I’m talking about. You assume if I’m disagreeing with you that im a favorer of the establishment. I NEVER HAVE BEEN!! There are more groups in the conservative movement than MAGA & the center-right establishment. I grew up with small town conservative parents. They listened to Rush Limbaugh daily. Bush 2004 was the first election I could vote in. I hated him. Him & his ‘no child left behind’. I hated his immigration stance more than anything. I registered early & voted against him in the primary. Didn’t work! We got W! I hated McCain & Romney!! Tried primarying them. I supported the Tea Party movement. I protested against immigration & in support of life. I wrote my representatives & Senators at least a dozen times. I helped run political campaigns in my home state of Alabama. I’ve helped lobby other state legislatures on behalf of stronger voting standards & voter ID laws. In 2013 my husband deployed to Afghanistan. He ended up losing both legs. We were stationed at Walter Reed Hospital in DC for 2 years following that. I’ve had a chance to meet some of the people we talk about on this forum. I actually got to tell him Kevin McCarthy what a disaster he is right to his face (pre-Speakership I believe). There are some major things I’m well aware of having lived in DC for 2 tears. Because of his injuries, we were invited to political & governmental functions, some at their homes. I can report to all- they aren’t like us. Most of us aren’t in a bubble of extraordinary wealth, hosting social functions or dining on cold split pea soup (disgusting btw). Too many of them are wrapped up in being members of an elite club & forget their constituents. I have no reason to have to defend myself. I’ve been active & solidly conservative since I was old enough to think for myself.
