Or maybe this is all part of what I call generational incrementalism.

And it ain’t just politicians, who are just paid actors anyway, with no real power.

The ruling class pushes stuff as far to the extreme as they they think they can get away with during a certain period of time.

Then they take a pause and wait for more socially conservative geezers to die off, while brainwashing more young people. Then they proceed to push things even further.

Rinse and repeat.

In the 1940s, pornography was sold in brown paper bags. Then Hugh Hefner tried to make it respectable starting in the 1950s. Now pornography is a multibillion dollar industry and the most popular form of entertainment along with video games.

Remember back when home computers first started becoming popular and there were all these safeguards to protect children from being exposed to inappropriate material? That all went out the window with smartphones..... More generational incrementalism.

All by design.

yes,
aside from Cute Cat Videos,

the pornography is all over the web
and accessible by anybody at anytime from anywhere

I personally would not try to ban porn. But still, it is a bit like wine. A glass of wine with an occasion nice dinner won’t actually harm anyone (doctors even cite some health benefits from a glass of red wine)

but pour it down a person’s throat 24/7 and it can, does a lot of harm

a great deal of harm
