At least four statues of Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela from 1999 to 2013, were toppled across the country as citizens took to the streets on July 29 to protest the result of the election

What’s the difference between the US elections and the Venezuelan elections?
Fewer Illegals vote in the Venezuelan elections.
It’s an insurrection! Kamala knows how to handle people like that.
Heard a figure there are over 8 million Venezuelans in the USA, so Democrats are hoping they at least vote in US elections.
It’s not a good look when there are sham elections anywhere. Nobody should tolerate them. I like that Argentina kicked the Venezuelan diplomats out. That Melei is one badass leader, of the good kind. Good luck to the people of Venezuela, if the police and army are throwing in with the people on the streets Maduro will have to flee to Moscow - and he got an invitation the other day from Putin.
Venezuelan's have nothing but hope. Their military is well fed, and they seem to love Maduro.
We'll see if it goes much further. I would hope so, but doubt they have the wherewithal to actually accomplish deposing that POS.
She already said they should respect the “results”.
When will she send US troops to aid the Democratically Elected (Fwee and Fair!) thug Maduro?
Gonna get sideways down yonder.
And yeah it will affect the world.
Biden is setting the world on fire.
But like America, the soldier’s families live among the general population. Soldiers would hesitate to fire on civilians if they knew their families were in danger.
Another fake election
That picture tells me all I need to know about the leftist mindset.
And we all know what happened to Ceaisescu.
Do they have a Treblinka in Caracas to hold these election deniers?
Yes. But it's unlikely that they'll kill thousands just to keep Maduro in power. So in this case, the collapse will happen quickly unless Maduro is able to act quickly to suppress the riots.
He can't ask Putin for help, the Russians are busy in Ukraine.
I hope that, like Ceaucescu, Maduro does not make it to the airport.
FR somehow decided the MSM narrative should be embraced about Venezuela. This has been bizarre for years.
As for socialism evil . . . the vast, vast majority of businesses in Venezuela, restaurants, barbershops, taxi companies, landscaping, construction . . . all privately owned.
What is not privately owned is the oil sector. Well, ever heard of Equinor? Probably not. They have changed their name a few times. They used to be Statoil, Norway’s national oil company. We don’t sanction them. How about Pemex? Right, nationally owned. Not sanctioned. How about ENI? Maybe never heard of them. They used to run Libya’s oil fields. But they are not Libyan. They are Italy’s national oil company. Oil India, nationally owned.
National ownership IS THE NORM for oil. The days of private ownership died as their fields died. Now we have Saudi Aramco, 99% nationally owned. Petronas, Malaysian national oil company.
So Venezuela has nationalized their oil sector . . . JUST LIKE MOST OF THE WORLD.
This is not evil, people. We don’t sanction the Saudis. We don’t sanction Malaysia. Nor Italy.
That seems madly disingenuous. What good is privately owning a business when it can be seized at any time, people are eating their own pets and living in fear? State owned oil companies are the only thing Venezuela and Europe have in common.
