I've been in the workforce some 40 years and have seen "girl bosses" come and go.

Not that I ever had a problem working for a female in the workplace (though other females apparently do) but they never seem to last very long. They either get burned out or they need to retire early to spend more time with family.

Why can't they just spend the time with family to begin with?

I worked for a female boss once. There's nothing worse than a female who feels the need to prove herself in the workplace.

She oozed arrogance and nothing I did was good enough for her.
