My father was ticketed for speeding on that highway, for driving over 100MPH.
Dad liked his fast cars.

Where did the lithium batteries come into play here? Nope, not watching a YT video after they badgered me with ads and suspended YT video watching.

Closed since 6 a.m. FRIDAY.
Aside from the fire at the side of the road, why haven't they figured out a fix to keep I-15 open?
It's on the side of the road, there is the other southbound lanes nearby. Typical overkill by caltrans.

Aren’t there any back roads, alternate routes to take? Aren’t there any paces that people can cross the median and go back where they came from? Baaa!!!!

In Canada, 2 recent EV stories. Ford decided to not build an EV auto factory, opting to produce heavier duty, hydrocarbon-powered trucks. A Canadian EV battery factory has been canceled. Both cited the declining EV market.

Why can’t they just turn around and go back to where they came from?

No good way around an I15 shutdown.
Go back to LA, get on I10, turn north on US95 east of Blythe.

Drove that a couple of times when I lived in Vegas, it turns into NOTHING out there pretty quickly. If they’ve shut it down for a long time, that could be BAD bad. It IS the desert after all.

Our government and State Police CHP are so cruel and stupid, they cant even close the hiway off to eastbound traffic and let the cars and trucks turn around and go back west in the eastbound lane until they get done over-reacting
Humans are amazing at what they can do and yet be so stupid at the same time

I thought the whole point of the Interstate Highway System was that it never closed. Might get down to one lane, but never closed. Apparently there is no provision to prevent hazardous products on the system to avoid closures? Sounds like a job for the California legislature, to pass a law prohibiting the transportation of dangerous materials like lithium batteries.
Or maybe just post a sign - No Road Closures Allowed.
