The Deep State doesn’t rely upon luck.

The "Deep State" is mostly a bunch of insulated bureaucrats in government and corporate offices. They tend to have narrow perspectives and very few skills except for knowing what to kiss and when. Their ultimate sponsors are approximately 500 billionaire families in assorted factions and alliances who ultimately direct the affairs of this country.

When they are not back-stabbing each other. That is one thing they are quite good at doing.

The billionaire families include a lot of third generation inbreeds with about the same level of intelligence as their minions in Congress and the various bureaucracies. Some are even more stupid than their minions, but wealthy people can always look smarter than they really are.

Of course they rely on luck.

We are living with a system that has accumulated incompetent people and uncorrected errors at all levels for way too long. It should not be surprising that the rulers cannot even arrange to assassinate an irritating populist from a minor billionaire faction without screwing that up.

The Deep State is a vast, powerful, and utterly unstoppable machine. Until it falls apart at the touch of a feather. That is coming. The internal corrosion is very far advanced, and they have remained arrogant and stupid way too long.

Delete this statement in my post:" I think Ohio limits magazine capacity to 10 rounds." I mistook Ohio for Pennsylvania, where Crooks lived.

Shot sound triangulation will determine where the shots came from. Anything else is just speculation.

The reason I said that 5 brass cases were on the roof with Crooks is that a Pennsylvania LEO with a body cam was one of the first on the roof and he counted the brass outloud and it was recorded on his body cam. It could be that he missed some, but he counted 5.

"It seems like everyone except the SS knew about him.

The SS did know about him, they were watching him all along.. They LET him take his shot.

Our nation is in more trouble then we could possibly imagine..

It is a possibility that this window is where the first three shots came from. The first three had a slower fire rate from the next five and the sound was muffled, like it was inside a room. But, the time between the sonic crack and the rifle report was about the same for the first three and the next five shots, indicating it was from approximately the same distance. I think Crooks was set up as a patsy.

Pretty obvious this is exactly right.

Make up your mind. Is the DeepState incompetent or omnipotent?

Make up your mind. Is the Deep State incompetent or omnipotent?

It is both and neither.

It depends on which part of the lifecycle for which you are asking that question. The "Deep State" we have now is in the last quarter of its' lifecycle and projects an image of arrogant omnipotence. It has in fact passed its' peak powers and is in serious trouble. "Slowly, then all at once" is how a collapse happens.

The foundational problem is economic. Totalitarian systems are really bad at managing or sustaining a prosperous economy and the Communist/Fascist/Socialist systems which have taken over Western governments are running all their economies into the ground. Parasites can only bleed so much from an economy before it starts to fail. The failure cascades as the factions run out of swag to pay out to their minions and start fighting over the remnants.

The Government Engine of Theft may be impossible to resist, but it must be feed constantly, or it collapses. It requires paid minions to keep turning the screws.

Elites can and have ruled for centuries over an impoverished peasantry that is dependent on the ruler's whims for continued survival. That is much easier than dealing with the demands of a prosperous working-class and middle-class population. It is the solution which the rulers tend to prefer. That solution is much easier for the rulers when they deal with a smaller population.

But rule over a large population requires a bureaucracy to maintain that rule. It also requires capable police and military organizations to enforce rules. These are costs of ruling, and a prosperous economy is necessary to support such organizations.

The desired transition is from an economy with prosperous middle- and working-class populations, to one which based on an enslaved peasantry and a small elite class with unrestrained power over the lives of the peasantry. The project requires sustained and unrelenting deception for generations to accomplish the desired results.

It is a risky project. There is always the possibility of citizens noticing that the declining living standards have been caused by the bureaucracy at the directions of the elites. People might object with more than just harsh words at the local tavern. The general population must be disarmed.

Factions within the elites might notice that they are losing and are about to be shoved into the same pit as the general population. They might covertly support violent revolutionary "movements" to pressure other factions into concessions. If that works, a faction might just say "to Hell with the pretenses" and make their grab for the gold ring of power. They will use force and violence, because that works.

Control of police and military is essential. Those forces must be paid, and they are expensive. The free economy that can support such organizations is a direct threat to the elites who want totalitarian rule. So, police and military get short-funded.

What happens when criminal organizations can make better offers then the government? We see that now in Mexico.

Nice essay but mostly irrelevant to an assassination attempt which is nothing like running a government.

I watched that body cam, myself. His words were even captioned. As he counted the empty cartridges, the words appeared. He counted eight! And, I am not going to go through the net to dig that video out. I saw it on Fox.

It wasn’t incompetence, it was complicity.

Here is an analysis of the bodycam footage that is pretty good that is from before the FBI took over the scene. It is a pretty good review of the scene including views to where the two sniper positions were set up on two buildings behind Trump. The person with the body cam counted 5 spent cases. It is possible that he missed some. I think I saw the video from the FBI, but I can't find it. It showed Crooks and 8 cases in a pile beside him. It hit me after that video that in crime scene documentation they place numbered markers beside each spent case and they don't disturb the scene. They don't pile the spent cases beside the dead shooter. I can't find that video so that is just my memory when I could not review again and make sure I was correct. Here is the video on Youtube:

Thanks for posting that youtube video. Good analysis & quite insightful.
The discrepancy in the number of shell casings coinciding with the time lapse in the body cam footage could be just incidental or something sinister.

Stay tuned...

Crooks was both the patsy and a decoy for the real shooter or shooters.

The latest I heard was Eight shots from Crooks’ AR-15 and two from the police sniper’s rifle. One of those shots from the sniper’s rifle, missed. The other one blew up his head so bad that a tuff of his scalp (with hair) flew up.

I am thankful that Crooks was not as good of a shot as that sniper.
