Trump is now certain to win the presidency

It has happened. Two conclusions seem inevitable. First, that we are looking at a second Trump presidency, barring an act of God. Second, that between now and November lie four months of relentless identity politics.

Welcome to the American election 2024, Donald Trump vs Kamala Harris edition. With Joe Biden succumbing this evening to the ravages of age and Covid, he used whatever judgment he had left to nominate Harris as his heir and successor.

History will not view that decision kindly. For one thing, Harris is one of the least popular politicians to have ever occupied a post this senior. As I pointed out three weeks ago, a poll last year granted her the ignominious status of worst vice president this millennium.

Americans need to step up. That’s the only solution.

You’re right on how long people are being bamboozled for, it’s insane more don’t see it, or they ignore it because fixing it would require stepping out of the comfort zone. Vast majority of Americans today would absolutely disgust the founders. All that sacrifice in the revolutionary war meant nothing.

The apathy is stunning coming from a vast number of so-called Americans. It’s a reminder of the Martin Niemöller: “First they came for the Socialists...” prose where he posited that the German people were complicit in what Hitler did due to ‘their’ apathy. The same applies, or will apply, to those that sit back silently and let the communists take over America without a fight. History repeats itself... often and regularly. It’s the same evil now as back then.
