In 2019, then-Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), a Democrat presidential candidate, bragged that she had “always” supported the single-payer Medicare for All program.
“I have always supported Medicare for All, I was very happy to sign onto Bernie [Sanders’] bill, and I give Bernie, frankly, a lot of credit for moving the conversation to where it is now,” Harris said in 2019 when running for the Democrat nomination for president.
However, she said her version of Medicare for All, wherein Americans would still have the option to receive a private insurance plan, was similar to Medicare, where seniors can choose traditional Medicare or Medicare Advantage, which allows for seniors to shop their preferred private insurance plan.

She also jailed a lot of innocent black men as DA...this needs to be pounded home:
she wanted to outlaw plastic straws...yeesh.
It’s easy to be distracted by Kamala’s ineptitude, the cackling idiocy. But she is by far a
dangerously race-obsessed neo-Marxist pol, among the most radical far lefty in the Senate.
What’s really off-putting, and works in her disfavor, is
her unbridled grasping for the office w/ a palpable greed.
Wait until (“sexist and racist”) Trump’s donation to Kamala Harris AG for California campaign becomes public knowledge…
Nothing new. He had also donated to Hillary Clinton.

Or at least that's what the MSM will have us believe.
Medicare would be a good idea but for all the fraud. Every govt program is riddled with fraud. All the non-whites see nothing wrong with having their doctor bill the govt for fictitious services and then they and the doc split the money.
Didn’t Dementia Joe kill Medicare?
When congress, the Supreme Court and the prsidential office turn down their ruling class healthcare… I will believe it. They should be called to live under the rules they impose on you and I.
The funny part is that @90% of US medical spending is already “socialist”.
Medical expenses in the US are almost all covered by Medicare and other government programs, or employer mandated private medical insurance. In that way the US is very little different from, say, France.
This has not been mentioned by either side of this fight, as it doesn’t serve anyone’s political arguments.
The big difference between the US and Europe and Canada and Japan, etc., in general, is that medical services in the US are vastly more expensive, and this is not due to how it is paid for - the world has a vast range of “socialist”, or not, ways of paying for medical services.
The US however has a tangle of regulatory/legal/administrative problems that makes everything to do with medical anything vastly expensive. That is a real, tangible instance of “American Exceptionalism”.
The US political argument over this is way over in left field, and the ball is not anywhere near there. You all are getting worked up over the wrong things.
Regulating healthcare is not one of the listed powers of congress and medicare is thus unconstitutional. But nobody cares about that.
Will the Democrats go over the cliff with her? I’ve been listening to CNN and MSNBC a bit this afternoon for comedy and they are all over themselves about how much experience she has gained as vice president while doing nothing, how he has experience and, of course, every other sentence is about her being a women and a person of color.
