MILWAUKEE, WI — At the end of former President and U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump's 90-minute acceptance speech, the sounds of opera opened with "Nessun Dorma" ("Let No One Sleep"), a majestic musical piece performed by tenor Christopher Maccio.

However, the aria also has a more sinister connotation beyond its original intention in the opera. It is featured in the 2002 film "The Sum of All Fears," based on Tom Clancy's 1991 novel. This political thriller, a sequel to "Clear and Present Danger" (1989), involves CIA Deputy Director Jack Ryan, who attempts to prevent a nuclear war between the U.S. and the Soviet Union circa 1985. Ryan faces entrenched bureaucrats from both sides and a missing nuclear warhead, which each side uses to further their agendas. At the end of the movie, Ryan is triumphant in preventing a nuclear holocaust, and "Nessun Dorma" plays. The camera shifts to various antagonists who meet their deaths by car bombs, throat slashing, and other means.

Trump often claims to be a victim of the deep state or the swamp, and he promises to drain the swamp if elected. Although the violent scenes accompanied by "Nessun Dorma" in "The Sum of All Fears" are intense, they may serve as a hyperbolic metaphor for Trump's campaign rhetoric. Performing it after his triumphant speech at the RNC convention might be one of the most ingenious trolls of all time.
The entire events of the past week. How the lefties have tried everything possible to get rid of President Trump. One thing they didn’t anticipate is the botched assassination attempt and a revival of God in our country. People see clearly what is going on. The die hard lefties never will.
You can see the democrats are flailing. Everything they’ve tried hasn’t worked. Is it because they have ideologues running their party and not intelligent people? Or is God saying, that’s enough, I’m not ready to pull the plug on Earth just yet?
Head of the Secret Service would stick it to them.
Its the message. I’m coming for you.
If the enemies of Donald Trump are clever enough to align his quote ‘My revenge will be success’ with the implications of this aria, they may want to start making plans to get the hell out of Dodge.
The metaphor is actually more relevant to the original opera, rather than “The Sum of All Fears”.
The last words of the song are:
“When morning comes, I will WIN, I will WIN, I will WIN.”
And the setting of the opera is in CHY-Nah!
In the movie, the terrorists are neo-Nazis using Muslims as a false-flag operation. In the book, the terrorists are Muslims, who hook up with some German Marxist to build a bomb. It’s pre-9/11 and the terrorist obtained the bomb from one lost by Israel during the Yom Kipper War. It’s damaged, but they hire some East German nuclear scientists to help rebuild it. The Germans are later killed once the Muslims think they are through with them. (Actually, there were some loose ends that didn’t get tied up.)
Donald Trump throws out an aria, the left throws out vile attacks. The enemies are running a decrepit old man or used up tramp. The shredder has to be running 24/4. Never seen anything like this.
In the movie (not the book) the final scene of killing off the neo-Nazi deep state plotters is set to this music.
I haven’t read the book, which I plan on doing. I won’t watch the movie, they are far below books
Thanks for posting this. I missed it completely, too.
Thanks, There are some good comments here.
I don’t recall Jesus having said, “Take them to the corrupt courts of their friends and fellow conspirators so that they may be let go.”
The book and the movie are quite different on this point. This has nothing to do with the book or the opera. The music in the opera is used as the background music for killing off neo-Nazi deep state schemers. In the book the terror attack with a nuclear weapon is carried out by Muslims, with German Marxist accomplices. In the movie, white neo-Nazis. In the book the German Marxists hold the Muslims (and their Amerindian accomplices) in contempt, but work with them out of convenience.
>> we don’t need metaphor like that right now
lol — you ain’t got no time for dat
It was a perfect ending to a perfect speech and just to know that the DSprobably shit themselves after hearing it. It gave me joy. Will the Hildebeast enter the race. She actually has more balls than Big Mike and has been suspiciously quiet since July 13.
Remember, she is a practicing witch. [Gary Aldrich circa 1996. “Unlimited Access”
I do not recall seeing a picture of President Trump with all the other living ex-presidents.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended the funeral for former President George H.W. Bush and sat in the same row with other former presidents.
There are other pictures of George W. and Laura Bush shaking their hands at the service.
Another interesting twist in the book, is that the nuclear material was “missing mass” from U.S. separation facilities. After the dud nuclear blast at the Super Bowl, analysis of the isotope ratios clearly identified the material as coming from specific U.S. facilities. In the book, the material was siphoned off by Israeli agents in the U.S., diverted to the Israeli bomb program. During the chaos of the Yom Kipper War, an Israeli quick reaction fighter plane armed with a nuclear weapon is taken by a substitute pilot when its pilot and ground crew are killed. The new crew know nothing about the nuclear payload, and are desperate to provide support to the Army, and take the next available aircraft. The inexperience pilot is shot down over Syria before he releases his weapon (and would have been ignorant of the arming sequence). Muslim terrorists, months later, recover the bomb, which finds its way to Denver.
I have not seen the movie, but apparently there were some plot changes.
I’ll read the book. Thanks for your input.
I love Pavarotti's version. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes.
I’ve been praying every day that the hedge of protection continue around President Trump. I don’t know about hillary, it’s hard to think as they do, evil all the time.
I read that book years ago. You’d think after 2016 she’d go off into the sunset and be a grandma. I don’t, maybe her broom is in the shop.
