Not entirely off, but it's dwindling fast. Baked into the 25th is a 4-day time limit to place the matter before Congress if Congress is in session but if not, it's a 21-day limit, and the Speaker of the House is the one who convenes.

Now, that's if the President resists. If he doesn't you don't even need the 25th to force anything, it just goes to the Constitutional order of succession and the Vice President is no longer temporary President, she's fully in office.

But in any case even if the President does resist and the matter goes to Congress, a 2/3 majority of both houses is required to remove permanently from office. I don't see the Republicans solving the Democrats' problem for them if they want to have political careers afterward.

You underestimate the ability of Republicans to shoot themselves in the foot.

Calling for Joe to leave office is a bad idea for Republicans all the way around.

One, it let’s democrats blame Republicans if he’s ousted.

Two, it helps them solve their joe problem. He’s beatable so whhhhy would a Republican help get him off the ticket?

Because we’re DUMB. And do DUMB things politically. We can’t help ourselves. We never met a winning hand that we didn’t fold on.
