As bad as it is, I think that the best odds are to stick with Biden. He's the incumbent, etc. I think it will be a slog with someone new.

Also, if he withdraws from the race, is he stepping down as president? If he's hanging around, that hurts the canddate.

He’s hanging around long enough to commute Hunter’s sentence:

WHEN WILL HUNTER BIDEN BE SENTENCED?

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika set no date for sentencing.

Defendants who are found guilty in Delaware federal court are typically sentenced within 120 days of their conviction. That would place it no later than about a month before the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election.

I agree because the election is 3 1/2 months away. Early voting starts in some states in September.

The Dems need to make arrangements with Biden if he decides not to run. Then they either let Harris run or they need to round up some candidates for a "snap primary." Kamala would control the campaign donations already received. How do they handle that? If they come up with a new candidate, that person has to ramp up a campaign against an almost impossible calendar.

Can the Dems pull it off? Well the entire Dem machine will be balls to the wall in the attempt.

His withdrawal from the race will definitely set in motion a chain of events he will likely have no control over. Can’t rule out a loud and growing demand that he resign and allow Kamala to run as the incumbent black woman president.
