Ahead of former President Trump’s rally on Saturday, local police informed the Secret Service that they didn’t have the manpower to station a patrol car outside the building a gunman later climbed to shoot at the presidential candidate, The Washington Post reported.
District Attorney Richard Goldinger of Butler County, Pa., the town where the Trump rally took place, said the Secret Service “was informed that the local police department did not have manpower to assist with securing that building.”
The Post had Goldinger’s account confirmed by a Secret Service official familiar with the incident.
The Secret Service official told the outlet the agency considered placing an officer outside the building to mitigate the chance that a shooter gets a clear line of sight on Trump via higher ground. The agency prepares for such a scenario at all public events.

CYA BS
So they considered putting someone on the roof, then said nah!
According to this article, the Secret Service is confirming that they were told in advance that local LEOs could not secure that building.
It’s just making the Secret Service look more culpable.
Exactly.
Then call off the rally or tell the police they are free to kill a threat without calling it in.
Dangerous sloped roof.

And … just like that, Secret Service wrapped up the briefing after taking only a few questions
So much smoke and mirrors
So little accountability
Beyond incompetence! It reflects opportunistic complicity.
But it'll take more than this for Xio Buydum to fire Cheatle.
So, how about calling for help from the PSP?
At this point, it seems like the attempted assassination was an inside job.
You are going to hear about tight budgets and low manpower issues.
It’s gonna sound like they are all whining. But small towns don’t have the staff—even if they wanted to help. State Police are short handed as well—at least they are in ur state (MA).
This is what happens when the police are made out to be villains.
I know in our area they would have reached out to Deputy Sherries and prison guards and paid them overtime (and then billed the campaign.). In most cases if you put a body on the site, it will be secure.
Damn what are those guys thinking, where are their safety harnesses?
Said nobody, other than the DEI hired Director of the SS.
She needs to be thoroughly embarrassed when she comes to congress. Sen. John Kennedy comes to mind.
My gun club buddies, who are all over 75 could have done better than what we saw and we only shoot 22’s.
HOW MANY SS AGENTS WERE ASSIGNED AT THE LAST MINUTE FOR A SPEECH JILL GAVE IN PHILLY?
HER SPEECH LASTED 5 MINUTES.
HOW FAR AHEAD WAS THAT SPEECH SCHEDULED?
A FALSE FLAG OPERATION TO WINNOW SOWN THE SS AGENTS THAT SHOULD/WOULD HAVE BEEN IN BUTLER???
If local law enforcement--or anyone else--could not secure the building, the Director of the Secret Service is responsible.
I can hardly keep up with this ever-changing story, but if the local police had inadequate resources to do as the Secret Service requested, their only responsibility was to communicate that to the Secret Service. Similarly, if the Secret Service expected somebody to be on the roof and nobody was, they should have noticed that. It appears (as of the current version) that no Secret Service supervision was present to spot this gaping hole in event security. You can’t just divvy up the jobs and not check to see if anyone is doing them.
At this point, it seems like the attempted assassination was an inside job.
