The slope had nothing to do with it. Watch the after action videos. There were several flat roofs (walkway/doorway over hangs) connected to the buildings. Agents were walking all over the flat roofs between buildings while investigating. Also, the slope angle was ridiculously minor, likely a bare minimum slope.

“Slope of the roof” is why you have an asset covering the back side of the freaking roof!!!
