Like an entire police force who refused to save 19 children?
Once the officer distracted the shooter why didn’t didn’t the snipers take him out? The shooter got 8 shots off immediately after the officer behind him retreated.

It’s a great defense if you’re using both hands to hang on to the edge of the roof, and someone on the roof aims a 223 at you. I mean, you can’t really draw your sidearm when both hands are presumably occupied.
In hindsight, he/she probably should have fired shots in the air right after landing to alert others that there was, in fact, a gun in the area.
