But schools are not criticized for this. You can pretty much look any week in the news and find a bunch of articles about this.

Been saying this for years. Plus, the Catholic Church does not have a pedophile priest problem, it has a homosexual predator priest problem.

The local Catholic Church I grew up at is closing - because our diocese is in bankruptcy, must consolidate and close parishes to pay for lawfare and damages, - ultimately all caused by a relatively very small minority of homosexual/pederast priests in the 1960s and 1970s
When will public schools face the same upheaval?

Been saying this for years as well:
Far too many American adults just enjoy hurting children -- most often other peoples' children -= physically, mentally and emotionally. They don't just enjoy it, they long for it ... they need it ... so they go where the children are.

This sounds incredible. I would have called this a crisis if the numbers were “1 in 1000”. But if this is anywhere close to accurate, it’s a total national failing. Wow.

Can you explain to us the reason for your doubts? Thanks.

1 in 12? I guess it depends on what is qualifying. Problem is unionized teachers aligned with NEA instead of with parents.

Government school teachers are government employees. They are, therefore, sacred. They can do no wrong and must never be criticized for any reason whatsoever.

They left out relatives. They get away with it more often. Look at Biden’s history. Neighbors and strangers come next.

The Spanish teacher in my high skrool was well known for having sex with the boys in her class and on trips it turned into orgy.
As far as mental abuse, I can remember Mrs Kerr on day 1 of 1st grade informing me that I needed to write with my right hand because “ only stupid people write with their left hand.”

Displaying the pride flag in any public school classroom is sexual abuse. I say more like 12 in 12.

Home school bump.
There are no good excuses for not home schooling any more.

...they have failed to report thousands of these situations... If that's true, how can you state that 8% of the school population have been molested? How does one draw inferences from unreported data? 523 incidents over the past decade hardly comes close to the number being implied here. Indeed, my guess is that sample is asymptotically zero. Likewise, the handful of examples listed hardly counts as a meaningful sample. I'm sure there are abuses, but I'd like to see the author verify 1 in 12 are victims.

In recent years we’ve seen a lot of OVERT sexualization in the public schools, ranging from students being asked to write about their sexual fantasies, being offered pornographic books to read, and even teachers and students engaging in simulated sex on school property. Why are you surprised that a lot of improper sexual contact is happening?

No doubt it has been increasing since society started to permit homosexuals to become teachers, but this sounds like the the reports of the number of women who have been sexually assaulted or harassed at work. The biased researchers expand the definitions to include things like a teacher giving a kid a piece of candy if he/she is having a bad day. I am lucky to have been young before all of this nonsense started, or I would have missed having some truly dedicated teachers who cares about their students, and definately weren't grooming anyone.
