The Ohio State Highway Patrol is providing security for U.S. Senator and top vice president contender J.D. Vance after former President Donald Trump survived an apparent assassination attempt on Saturday.
Gov. Mike DeWine approved a request for security, according to the governor's spokesperson, Dan Tierney. Vance lives in the Cincinnati area, so troopers are monitoring his home.
When asked who requested the details, Tierney responded that he couldn't comment further. Ohio State Highway Patrol also couldn't elaborate

Rather presumptuous. I wonder if this was done with or at President Trump’s request and if other potential VP candidates are getting the same.

JD Vance VP was trending about 6pm. Some other poster claimed several black SUV’s pulled up to his house this evening. But that poster deleted it later. Seems like might be so smoke there.

Get private security Mr. Vance. I wouldn’t trust the SS, or anyone else in federal law enforcement, to feed my goldfish.
I like Vance. But, anybody would be better than Pence!
