You might pay attention to start with section A, 10 and (b)1, A, B, and C. The only major difference between a sitting president and a past is that the past can waive the protection. If the past doesn’t waive, and for the sitting POTUS it is required and they are in total control of the area up to 1000 yards from the targeted individual. They can’t blame local authority.

I want to support you, but where did you did you find the "1000 yards" citation? I searched everywhere but could could not find it.
