Teenagers are often a@@-holes. They don’t like people who are different than they and their friends. Easy to be branded an outcast.

They don’t like people who are different than they and their friends.
Some of that can be corrected by blending in somewhat in clothing and hair. As a teenager, I remember parents forcing their kids into out-of-date hairstyles and clothes because they thought it was disrespectful to their authority. Sometimes the kids wanted to be “different” on their own. Being too different has a price. I hated high school, but it helped me figure where and when I fought my battles. Some of the decisions had to wait until you moved away. You can muck up your life before age 24. You have to bide your time. That is part of growing up.
