Not long before shots rang out, rally goers noticed a man climbing to the top of a roof of a nearby building and warned local law enforcement, according to two law enforcement officials.
One officer climbed to the roof and encountered Crooks, who pointed his rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder and Crooks quickly took a shot toward former President Donald Trump, and that’s when the U.S. Secret Service counter snipers shot him, said the officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.

He climbs a ladder using 2 hands. As soon as he starts over the top the gunman points a gun at him. What is he suppose to do? No time to pull his weapon and shoot so he backs down under cover and evaluates the situation. In those few seconds the gunman fires, the gunman is killed, and any one going on the roof right then is another suspect.
Not a chance this is true. Just a lie floated to try to cover for either the incompetence or the plot. TMZ has video of the guy from right before he started shooting up until he was taken out by police snipers. There was clearly no one else on the roof.

Your calander may say 2024 but we are living in 1984.
I wonder what sort of ladder this was (straight up steel commercial ladder coming up at a roof scuttle, or, a convenional ladder leaned against an outside wall), and where the ladder came up on the roof, relative to the shooter’s firing position and Trump’s location.
