I don’t mean to trivialize this but it is going to be difficult for the Dems to take away the sympathy and admiration for Donald Trump in this incident.

They trashed his reputation, put a magazine cover out of Trump’s face as Hitler’s, made him “the convicted felon” by ruthless lawfare and said he was an existential threat to democracy.

Then one gunman apparently was agitated by the rhetoric enough, in my opinion, to take heinous action.

Maybe. But it may not be a lone wolf situation. The others may be very happy the shooter was killed before he could be questioned.
