This (since 2008) has been The Long Goodbye to the Republic. We've sown the wind and are about to reap the whirlwind. Never say we weren't warned.

Josh 23:16: When ye have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.

"This (since 2008) has been The Long Goodbye to the Republic..."

Try 2000 or even earlier, but most prevalent is the 2000 election where Al Gore tried to overturn the election in Florida. Gore sued to have recounts conducted in three cherry-picked Democrat-controlled counties, and a Florida Judge decided in his favor. George Bush counter-sued and asked that his suit be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court, which it was. However, it still took a month for anyone to know who the next President would be.

You'd think that the Republican Party would have wanted to keep an incident like that from ever occurring again, but they did nothing, not even when they had the majority in both Houses, and the White House at the same time.

And let's not forget that on election night in 2000, Fox News called Florida for Gore before the polls in the Panhandle had closed. They had to take back their call when they realized their "error." Gore had conceded to Bush by phone, but somebody must have whispered in his ear, and he turned around, called Bush back and took back his concession. It was the beginning of a national nightmare, and other election nightmares have occurred regularly since then.
