She’s an obvious idiot, but why did so many other people decide to participate? Too many in our society have lost the notion of civility.

Or in the case of this particular subculture, never had it to begin with. The only thing keeping them (somewhat) in line previously wasn’t a greater sense of civility, but a fear of consequences. Ever since the summer of 2020, that fear has been greatly diminished.
