Why do they use the term “Fundamentalist”? There are no end of variations of adjectives to describe different flavors of Judaism, and “Fundamentalist” is NOT one of them.
I understand that they don’t fit neatly into Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, but “variant”, “off-shoot”, Even “deviant” would be a better adjective than “Fundamentalist”.
I’m guessing that the Post didn’t want to incense the Orthodox readership.
