“A Chinese invasion of Taiwan won’t affect the UK in the least.”
Uh, yes it will. Taiwan is dominate in microchips and nobody else comes close (we regulated our microchip industry to death).
Their industries all need microchips for important and trivial things (like controlling a car seat because people can seemingly no longer use manual adjustments).
This is one of the reasons I am getting a new car soon, in case China invades because car prices will skyrocket. This will happen sooner rather than later unless Chinese intelligence can keep the demented one in the White House.
At any rate Britain won’t be an industrialized nation anyway if they become Islamic. The only Muslim nations that have a significant manufacturing base are Turkey and Malaysia.

True. But then such things tend to reach an equilibrium. If the ChiComs take Taiwan, they will dominate the microchip industry. But then other factories will spring up elsewhere.
The problem will be the lag time. It could be significant. So, yes. Your concern is warranted.
