Haciendas on postage stamps.
No thank you.
I’d rather live in a 15 minute city than this.
I hate communities where it is a requirement to walk forever to get anywhere.
Most places like that, you can ride around in your golf cart & look for lonely widows to hit on.
Is that what you see last when the parachute doesn’t open?
😇👼😇👼
Agreed! Haciendas on postage stamps. I would rather live in the tick and chigger infested Ozarks on my 15 acres than on a postage stamp.
Adds I have seen for other places...Pagosa Springs Colorado. 1/4 acre lots.(no thank you even though it is beautiful)
Ute Lake NM a large ranchette “on a WHOLE HALF ACRE!”
Love the Rockies but I would need lots more space!
I visited a relative in a Dell Webb community many years ago. At a later date, my wife and I visited one. They are known for having many clubs, activities, and community events. They are golf-cart friendly. The homes are nice. If I remember right, you can get some of your lawn mowed for you, but the more enclosed, private part of your lawn is for you to mow. A lot of retirees like it. While it has some appeal, it’s not the way we chose to go.
Don't threaten me with a good time.
Crowded, lacks privacy, right next door to the liberal hell of Austin with traffic, crime and “homeless” doing drugs in public. But it is a lot cheaper than the Villages and those other golf cart places in Florida...
No thanks-I’ll stay here in BFE in my acreage neighborhood with the mobile homes, cabins, etc-cheap, peaceful and karen-free-nearest town is 900 people and 18 miles away-it has retirement condos on a golf course too...
I live in Sun City Hilton Head. We have three golf courses. It’s a fun place to live.
My hub and I visited an Arizona Del Webb community many years ago...I burst into tears at the suggestion we could live there.
Being from out west I could never adapt to flat land like that regardless of all the rest. Give me a place where I need a topographic map!
Even a British publication shouldn't get that wrong.
Lots of weed, casual sex, and acid rock and now an easy commute to SEC football games?
The Villages has some competition!
Actually I know Betty and her skydiving started with an Honor Flight Vet who wanted to Dual dive on his 100th birthday! She is a motorcycle Mama as well... cool lady who still runs 2 businesses.
Awesome! I pray she continues safely!!
Sounds rather like The Villages in Florida. Outsiders squint at these gatherings of the older generation, but I see nothing wrong with them. I’m happy where I am, but I probably could be happy here in Georgetown. Why not?
It’s condo living horizontally instead of vertically. Plus you don’t have to share walls, a floor, and ceiling with someone. Carpooling is easier and friends are all within shuffling distance.
EC
Good tears I hope.
