Biden is not being treated for Parkinson's, White House says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden is not being treated for Parkinson's disease, the White House said on Monday, after reports surfaced that a doctor specializing in the malady had visited the White House eight times over the past year.

Concerns that the president might be suffering from an undisclosed illness have risen since Biden's stumbled in his June 27 debate with Republican Donald Trump.

The New York Times said White House visitor logs show that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders and recently published a paper on Parkinson’s, visited the White House eight times from last summer through the spring of this year.

During an acrimonious briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to confirm Cannard's visit, saying she wanted to respect the privacy of all involved for security reasons.

She said Biden had seen a neurologist three times connected to Biden's annual physical exams.

She said Biden was not being treated for Parkinson's.

Lewy Body it is. I have been suspecting and mentioning for awhile and everything seems to be pointing to it. YES! They need to ask the direct question. Not that the answer would be the truth.

Too bad as he likely should be in treatment for Parkinson’s. If he had lewy Body he would not be able to read well or at all. His short term memory would be shot. He would keep asking the same thing over and over.

Lewy Body dementia

“LBD is not the same as Parkinson’s, but the two are closely related: LBD causes some or all of the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s. More than 1 million people in the U.S. are affected by Lewy body dementia, according to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.”

And by the way, patients with cerebral vascular disease are helped by Parkinson’s medications if vascular damage has reached certain areas of the brain, but this is not classic Parkinson’s disease. That is probably why they are saying he doesn’t have Parkinson’s.

" ">>She said Biden was not being treated for Parkinson's."

Clever use of the present tense."

"Was" is not present tense.

"Is not being treated" is present tense.

"If he had lewy Body he would not be able to read well or at all. His short term memory would be shot. He would keep asking the same thing over and over."

Depends on the severity.

Lewy body dementia (LBD) does not typically involve severe short-term memory loss, especially in its early stages. This is one of the key differences between LBD and Alzheimer's disease.

An older female relative of mine has an early form of vascular dementia. They don’t see many capillaries in her brain.

She forgot her email password three weeks ago, and hasn’t been able to get into it, since. It’s the same email password she’d had for years.

“Lewy body dementia (LBD) can cause a wide range of symptoms, including problems with thinking abilities, movement, sleep, and behavior. However, people with LBD may not experience every symptom, and the degree of symptoms can vary widely. For example, in the early stages of LBD, short-term memory usually remains intact. However, as the disease progresses, people with LBD may experience other symptoms, such as:
Visual and spatial abilities: Difficulty judging distance and depth, or misidentifying objects
Unpredictable changes: In concentration, attention, alertness, and wakefulness
Visual hallucinations: Which can occur in up to 80% of people with LBD, often early on
Motor skills: Tremors, muscle stiffness, loss of facial expression, balance and posture problems, and slowness in movement and speech
Involuntary functions: Bladder and bowel incontinence, low blood pressure, and temperature regulation “

She also refused to answer citing patient doctor privilege..it was like pulling teeth with that demented chick..just answer the question, why does a parkinsons disease doctor need to visit you EIGHT times..I doubt it was to play checkers..heck even parkinsons patients dont need to see their doctor 8 times in two yrs, so this is excessive

The the Parkinson specialist has visited 8-10 times, including the private residence of the president, yet the president does not have Parkinson. Will that doctor be allowed to confirm that?

My BIL has had Lewy Body for about 9 years. I see it every week.

First Biden is not in the early stages of anything. He’s at least middle to entering late stage something. If it was Lewy Body he would walk slumped to one side. At this point he wouldn’t remember most people though he might pretend to. He wouldn’t be able to give even a crappy speech. Reading would be very difficult. The short term memory starts to go. You forget how to tie your shoes or button your shirt.

There is only one drug for Lewy Body. They wait til you’re getting somewhat pronounced to start you on it and it only works for one year. When it stops working you go downhill pretty fast. The only other drug they put you on is an antidepressant to keep you in a good mood so you don’t get violent.

Joe Biden is not presenting with Lewy Body symptoms. Maybe its not Parkinson’s either. It may be just senile dementia coupled with some other physical deterioration.
