Opinion - The words about Joe Biden I never wanted to write
Washington Post ^ | July 7, 2024 at 3:31 p.m. EDT | E.J. Dionne Jr.

It’s hard to acknowledge that those who worried about Biden’s age may have been right all along.

Two moments in President Biden’s ABC News interview with George Stephanopoulos on Friday are likely to be remembered as the dealbreakers that provoked an open rebellion against his candidacy. As important, they were also moments when many among the president’s strongest supporters began to lose heart.

Stephanopoulos asked the exactly appropriate question near the end of their conversation: “If you stay in and Trump is elected and everything you’re warning about comes to pass, how will you feel in January?”

There were many right responses this question, the obvious being something like: “If I didn’t believe with all my heart that I will beat Trump, I wouldn’t stay in this race.”

Instead, Biden offered what was close to the worst possible reaction, and not because of the slightly fractured syntax: “I’ll feel as long as I gave it my all and I did the good as job as I know I can do, that’s what this is about.”...

EJ, you are the quintessential REMF. I have never held you in high regard, and your mea culpa is worthless.

His corruption and perversion are not a problem.

Only his age.

Got it.

As a journalist, if E.J Dionne Jr. was truly one, it wouldn’t be about what words he wanted or didn’t want to write. It would be about the truth. The reality is that ideologues like E.J Dionne Jr. don’t care about the truth. They don’t care about honor, or protecting the innocent. They are about their stature, and about those who give them that stature. It’s beyond pathetic and beyond morally corrupt.

Every time a rat says “everyone does it,” it’s because someone caught him doing it.

I think you mean “equate,” not “equivocate.”

Those are indeed his attributes. That and his relentless stupidity place him in the first rank of hack journalists. It’s a big group, but he’s more than earned his place

I cringe every time anyone uses the word democracy. How can we educate Americans to use the CONSTITUTION. Teach them that it was Democracy which brought down Rome. Hold tight to our CONSTITUTION and educate the young until it sticks.

So sad that people like E J Dionne, who should know better, are spewing the same “Trump is a threat to democracy” crap that you get out of Joy Ann Reid. He should actually be smart enough to recognize the abuse of power exhibited by Biden’s corrupt law fare, or Biden’s utter contempt for the Supreme Court’s ruling that he doesn’t have the power to give away billions in student loan bailouts. BIDEN is the petty tyrant. THAT is the threat to democracy.

Dionne has been an evil liar for decades.

He was a little more subtle in the old days—but he was always a leftist agitator at heart.

Hey. When there are millions of people who vote and don’t have a clue about how our republic and government actually works they can say anything and it wont be questioned.

“I don’t get it. “

The laws that limit a decent man in the presidency don’t limit the democrats. When they look at Trump they can’t help but project their own contempt for Law on republicans. It’s an admission of their own corruption.

The Washington Post brought down Nixon. Since then, they and the rest of the MSM have believed that they have some Constitutional role in determining who is capable to serve as President. Their role is to inform the public, which they have failed to do when it comes to Biden. It is not their job to shove him under the bus. That’s the democrats’ job.

“deaf and dumb”

Be careful when judging people by speech alone.

“Dysphasia is a language disorder. It occurs when the areas of the brain responsible for turning thoughts into spoken language are damaged and can’t function properly. Consequently, people with dysphasia often have difficulty with verbal communication.

“Dysphasia is caused by brain damage. Strokes are the most common cause of brain damage that leads to dysphasia.”

“During a stroke, a blockage or breakage in the blood vessels of the brain deprives the cells of blood, and consequently oxygen. When brain cells are deprived of oxygen for too long, they may die.

“Some other common causes of dysphasia include:
infections
severe head injuries
brain tumors
neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s
transient ischemic attacks (TIA)
migraines
seizures
Some causes of dysphasia, such as TIAs, migraines, and seizures, only result in temporary brain damage. Language abilities are restored once the attack is over.”
