Hes a character in Tolkien's works. Tar-Atanamir was one of the kings of Numenor. Whereas previous kings gave up the royal scepter to the next-in-line when they became old and ready to pass on, Tar-Atanamir held on to it. He didn't want a peaceful death either. And so he lived on well past 400 years old, king most of that time. In the end he was a drooling, incontinent senile old fool clinging to the throne "beyond the end of all joy".

That’s why I think Biden may well be re-elected. That
way at some point he can step down and Harris moves
up. Depending upon the timing she could be re-elected
for two full terms.
After watching more of the Stephy interview, where Biden says the polls are all wrong, and he brags about the crowds he draws, and that he has talked to so many people in congress for hours that are all behind him, I think with each passing day Biden is getting more and more delusional. And as he gets more delusional, he’s gonna dig his heels in more and more. It may be too late to get through to him, and his inner circle is only helping to encourage his delusions. If he is not convinced to step down from the campaign soon, they will eventually be forced to go the 25th amendment route. Right now I think we are in a lot of danger with Biden being unfit, delusional, but wanting to show he’s large and in charge.
