Yemen’s Houthis are sending drone boats packed with explosives into the Red Sea as they intensify their attacks on merchant ships that have little defense against the “sophisticated shift” in tactic, maritime security sources say.
Iran-aligned Houthi militants first launched aerial drone and missile strikes on the trade route in November in what they say is solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. In over 70 attacks, they have sunk two vessels, seized another and killed at least three seafarers.

If these drone boats are detectable with radar, equipping ships with 20mm cannons and the operators with night vision would fix this pronto. I can’t see it costing more than $25K/installation. Cheap insurance.
Militant Islamists are certainly in a provocation stage lately.
They know their time is short.
Start blowing up Iranian ships and you will see the Houthis stop.
I would prefer to take out Kharg Island. 80% of Iran's oil exports are from there. Their economy would collapse.

If the Boss Houthis were afraid to fall asleep at night or drive around in a truck or car, the Red Sea attacks would end instantly.
The attacks won’t stop until the Egyptians and Saudis send in an army to wipe the Houthis out. It is more their business than ours.
Let me guess, a 10kt weapon detonated 1000’ above Sanaa should do the trick.
5.56mm
Linebacker Ii or an Arc Light as an alternative.
5.56mm
Why do I imagine that these Houthi rebels resemble the Tusken rebels in the first Star Wars movie?
That would do it, but the loss of production would drive oil prices through the roof, and the Doofus in Chief emptied the SPR.

Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast.
The Saudis don’t have the manpower and except for a few elite units, are not great soldiers. The Egyptians have manpower, but also have a very substantial Muslim Brotherhood faction to contain at home.
IMO, the best bet would be to convert a couple of our old ships into drone carriers. Even merchant ships would do. Our AD ships can protect the nu-wave “carriers”. Swarm the Houthis with a thousand drones a day.
Why don’t Maersk and other massive shipping companies hire mercenaries to conduct unrestricted attacks on Houthis?
Egypt is losing the Canal tariffs due to these knuckleheads and they have a decent army and airforce. They should have the leading role here..
Islam IS a definition of Militancy.
Provocation is the name of their game.
They are at this stage “ lately”? How about since the 7th century?
Islam cannot coexist with any other religion.
Islam cannot coexist with itself and the many factions they have.
Violence is their way, just look at the Saudi flag.
If only there was a strong leader in the western world……
