Hungary’s Viktor Orbán Arrives for ‘Peace Mission’ in Russia

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Moscow, days after a similar visit to Kyiv, Ukraine, to discuss the ongoing Russian invasion with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Kremlin offered Orbán a cordial reception, just as Kyiv did less than a week ago, but leaders in the European Union issued statements appearing to indicate disapproval of Orbán’s travels. Orbán, who currently holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union, has described his travel as a “peace mission” intended to “clarify the facts” between Zelensky and Putin, hoping to carve out space for direct talks between the two countries.

And the threat is not going to come from Putin.

I support all of this. Orban’s efforts and the hard liners in the West.

Putin and Zelensky at this point are both fools, thinking they can win. Putin wants the ceasefire more than Zelensky.

Think of how awful a position Russia is in, that Ukraine wants to keep fighting. A country that should have fallen in two weeks.

I don’t think Trump will have trouble ending this war. We need to be sure to have a republican Congress, because the democrats will impeach him again. And again.

Putin negotiated in good faith at Minsk and Istanbul. He got boned by the West both times. Amazingly, he will still negotiate with the West. Two honest brokers, Trump and Putin, can stop the killing.

“The fact that Mr. Trump, as a presidential candidate, declares that he is ready and wants to stop the war in Ukraine, we take this completely seriously,” Putin stated.
“I am not, of course, familiar with possible proposals for how he plans to do this. This is the key question. But I have no doubt that he means it sincerely, and we support it (the idea of ending the war).”

I have to believe Viktor knows he is a marked man. He has some of the most dangerous enemies in the world. Trust no one if you want to live.

Putin has clearly lined out what “peace” looks like. He gets to write the security policies for Poland, Belarus, Moldova, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tagikistan. Total populations of those countries are about 400 million, vs Russian’s 140 million. Writing the security policies means he controls those countries, and they pay taxes to Russia. Also, NATO has to back up so that it no longer borders Russian territory anywhere. There were a whole host of other demands I can’t recall.

A Danish military analyst related why Russia is committing war crimes. Putin sees the international order as something run by the multipolar world where Russia controls its pole. The rules do not apply to the major powers like Russia. The war crimes are an in-your-face to the West and their “rules-based order.” He is clearly stating the “rules” don’t apply to Russia. Thus, the war crimes and the forced relocation of children to bump up their flagging demographics.

Given that starting point, I’d be interested in knowing what Orban thinks he can accomplish.

If Orban needs to be cautious, it's for the same reason Fico needed to be in Slovakia.

Peace is the absolute last thing the globalists, NATO, the Biden regime or Deep State wants.

The EU and NATO are concerned, as they should be. With a strong possibility Turkey pulls out of NATO, and Orban leaving the corrupted EU, possibly collapsing.

Do note the six EU and area elections due- looks like the little man Macron is out in France, Farage in in England. I don’t expect many here to monitor what is happening to the EU, but it certainly would help some make sense of what is happening.

….the Pendulum is swinging the other way….only the brain dead EU leadership spout war, war with Russia…the citizens clearly do not.

Viktor should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He is the only European or Western leader worth keeping. The EU is falling all over itself disclaiming his visit - screaming he ain’t representing us! But what if he walks away with a total ceasefire and peace deal? Is EU going to fight it? Take him to court? What a bunch of scoundrels we got in bed with.

*Viktor should receive the Nobel Peace Prize.*
He should reject it. It belongs to Trump-Abraham Accords.

I’d be interested in knowing what Orban thinks he can accomplish. He likes Trump but not the UU. A good go-between.

*Putin has clearly lined out what “peace” looks like. He gets to write the security policies for Poland, Belarus, Moldova, *
Stop at Belarus. Ukraine owes them payback.

[Abraham Accords]

I know it sounds like a good idea. You don’t want it, trust me.

However, by the time people figure it out, it cannot be stopped.

Very, very few will believe this until it happens.

But it IS going to happen (somehow). I don’t know how, exactly, or on whose watch.

They just make stuff up out of whole cloth, and try to sell it here on the forum.

A post like that really does call for some sort of source we can look at.
