Yup, the quickest surest way to cause shortages is for the govt to institute price controls. Jimmy Carter found that out with oil... These frikkin’ marxists must have skipped economics classes.

How to fund the increased benefits?

Put a federal tax on “unhealthy” food and beverages, and luxury meats [steak, shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, lamb chops & crowns, rib roasts](and eventually anything over $6/pound).

Prohibit the use of SNAP and other programs to buy such taxed foods and beverages so Joe’s lower income voters don’t have to pay more tax.

Think about this; this is how Democrats think:

Jail the people who sell the groceries.

DON’T jail the people who STEAL the groceries that cause the grocers to have to raise prices.

Meanwhile, it looks like they’re starting to go after Team Jill:

Housing prices are too high for anyone.

The Biden regime has sanctioned the Russian suppliers of fertilizer and seized their assets, reducing the amount of food being produced world wide.

The iron law of supply and demand is still in effect, despite the wishes of corrupt politicians.

Democrats aren’t responsible for anything they do. They always blame corporations. Every Democrat officeholder in the United States could not run a supermarket.

I have noticed my local grocery store is offering $1 bags of perfectly good produce. Near the bin it says something to the effect of “no hunger”!

Potatoes, avocados, onions, oranges, and bananas come to mind. Those other day I got over 2 pounds of potatoes for $1, and 3 avocados for $1. We like potatoes, but don’t go through a bunch at one time, so I can’t buy in their larger scale, where the savings often are. The avocados were 1/3 of the price I often pay.

Joe is making me seek out every single cost cutting measure. Too bad our government doesn’t follow the same guidelines that I have to.

The random nature of the price increases indicates they are coming from manufacturers and growers who are experiencing things like increased health insurance costs.

I’m sure the House can hold hearings if Joe wishes to pursue his new vote-buying project.

Almost everything in the inner aisles could be Hecho en Mexico.

I promised to pay the cartels $10,000. You’ve sent all the factory jobs to Mexico. Nobody want to buy a new house because they were promised housing at 30% of their income or less and the housing market has stalled. It’s my life. Life was so much better in Honduras.
