For their "donors", corrupt was a feature, not a bug. Clinton was probably the most personally corrupt politician to assume the presidency since Chester A. Arthur. The shocking thing about Arthur is, once he assumed office after the assassination of the incorruptible and infinitely capable Garfield, he turned his back on the corrupt New York GOP machine, and was a model of small "r" republican rectitude.
