I hiked into the resort in 2013 with an intestinal “issue”.

I knew 2 of the staff and they asked if I wanted to do the supper dishes in trade for a meal. I said yes, and after doing 45 consecutive meals of dishes over the next 15 days, my intestinal issue resolved itself and I took off hiking.

A few years later (2016) the resort owner called me out of the blue as 200 firefighters had gotten dropped into the lap of the resort and overwhelmed the sewer system.

I got a call from the owner looking for help. I responded to the ask and showed up to help expand the resort’s sewer system.

I am now in my 9th consecutive year of working the summer in the big mountains.

With a big s**t eating grin on my face, I am enjoying the “golden years” to the fullest extent possible.
