You know, I think I’m a bit like Reagan was. On the macro scale I’m against illegal immigration which equals invasion.
But on an individual micro scale I have compassion for this guy - a true down and outer - and want to help him, but he doesn’t speak English and keeps getting into trouble (minor infractions, nothing violent or major). He’s in jail right now for plugging into a motel’s external outlet to power his trailer’s AC. Goofy things like that.
I’m probably going to have to advise him to either get citizenship or legal entry paperwork or face getting deported after Trump is elected.

Yes. I would advise him to start the legal ball rolling (as much as he can from jail) because it will otherwise be the bus wheels rolling. I dare say his record won’t help him when it comes to citizenship.
