Generally agree. Grew up on ‘da Range in northern MN - a true Jack Pine Savage. Because I was an engineer, and had tree climbing euqipment, I’d often drop troublesome trees between a house and a garage, etc for neighbors. 30 years later?
I have sciatica and lower back problems. Still have the gamut of saws - mostly Stihl.
But last week I bought a battery-powered 18” saw. It worked for what I wanted (cleaning up after a tornado), and didn’t tick me off re filters and pickup tubes.
2” orange tree limbs to 13” live oak. No problems and quiet.
It is not suited for my wood yard - I have two fireplaces and a smoker, but I’m quite happy
Now, if I could only afford a second battery!
“Still have the gamut of saws - mostly Stihl.”
Damn, you were serious if you were using Stihl.
“Now, if I could only afford a second battery!”
Yep, that’s the killer. Probably takes 5 battery charges to match one tank of gas.
