I think he whispered “now, I get to pardon Hunter”. Whether Biden withdraws or whether forced off the ticket, the Big Guy will pardon Hunter, not only on the gun conviction, but, more importantly, on the tax fraud charge that may implicate him and his entire family and which goes to trial in a few weeks. The pardon will prevent the trial from happening
This could happen, I suppose, but won’t Hunter still be “guilty as charged” but just not officially. He would likely be forever mistrusted in case he would decide to run for any public office. I know I could never vote for him for anything higher than dog catcher.
