WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is expected to discuss the future of his re-election campaign with family at Camp David on Sunday, following a nationally televised debate Thursday that left many fellow Democrats worried about his ability to beat former President Donald Trump in November, according to five people familiar with the matter.

So far, the party’s top leaders have offered public support for Biden, including in tweets posted by former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Senior congressional Democrats, including Reps. Hakeem Jeffries of New York, Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and Nancy Pelosi of California, have privately expressed concerns about his viability, said two sources apprised of those discussions, even as they all publicly back the president.
One Democratic House member who believes Biden should drop out of the race — but has yet to call for that publicly — told NBC News that three colleagues expressed the same sentiment to him during votes on the House floor Friday.

At the same time, there is an understanding among top Democrats that Biden should be given space to determine next steps. They believe only the president, in consultation with his family, can decide whether to move forward or to end his campaign early — and that he won’t respond well to being pushed.
“The decision-makers are two people — it’s the president and his wife,” one of the sources familiar with the discussions said, adding: “Anyone who doesn’t understand how deeply personal and familial this decision will be isn’t knowledgeable about the situation.”

Another person familiar with the dynamics said Biden will ultimately listen to only one adviser.
“The only person who has ultimate influence with him is the first lady,” this person said. “If she decides there should be a change of course, there will be a change of course.”

Okay, it’s an informal meeting, but I think he’s still getting out.
Not only should Biden end the campaign, the 25th amendment should be invoked posthaste.
Maybe, but would just getting out of the election resolve this? Seems like he’d have to admit Harris has to swear in as President (ASAP).
Other problems? Would he hand the campaign funds over to Newsom? Does the Biden presidential library fund go to 2-billion dollars? Will some bulk pardon be created to cover his crimes?

If you want Biden to remain in office through the election, it shouldn't matter who wins the 2024 election because the office is irrelevant.

The Heritage Oversight project has set their sights on three contentious swing states where they believe taking Biden off the Democratic ticket would not allow anyone else to replace him: Georgia, Nevada and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin does not allow withdrawal from the ballot for any reason besides death.
In Nevada, no changes can be made to the ballot after 5 p.m. on the fourth Friday in June of an election year or ‘a nominee dies or is adjudicated insane or mentally incompetent.’
If Biden were to withdraw less than 60 days before the election Georgia his name will remain on the ballot but no votes will be counted.
In Texas, the two party’s nominees have until the 74th day before the election to withdraw from the ballot. Some states, like South Carolina, do not allow candidates to withdraw for political reasons.

Dr. Jill has a lot of reasons to keep Demented Joe in the White House. Unlimited use of government jets and a host of taxpayer funded dementia caregivers are just two reasons.
Unlikely that Hunter will lose guaranteed pardons, commuted prison sentences, and fines when Pops is out of office. Old Joe would demand his successor promise to pardon Hunter as a bargaining chip to resign from office.
Though Clinton and Obama made statements of support for Biden right after the debate, their support was probably more of a statement of "Don't put this decision on my doorstep. Not my problem and I don't want the heat."
All that said, there is no way Biden survives this. The Democrats are most likely thinking about how they can end his term right now...even if that means Kackling Kamala. Biden is destroying the Dem brand (such as it is) and the Party knows he needs to become old history before November rolls around.
I think the convention is going to be entertaining.
Invoking the 25th amendment would remove Biden now and replace him with Kamala Harris who would then choose a new Vice President. The Democrat power brokers don’t want this. They want to be able to make the decisions, and that doesn’t include Kamala.
