Former President Barack Obama expressed his confidence in President Joe Biden on Friday, one day after a disastrous debate performance spurred many Democrats to suggest that Biden should drop out of the presidential race.
“Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know,” began Obama. “But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit. Obama’s vote of confidence should come as relief to the embattled president, who by all indications fully intends on remaining in the race until the bitter end.

Agree. Biden is no longer viable. The Republicans have tons of ammunition from Democrats themselves on how he is no longer fit and should step aside. Just look at the NYTimes editorial page.
Democratic leadership is trying to put a brave face on things while they try to figure out what to do.
That told me biden already knows the outcome of 2024 even if the margin is still to be determined.
So, he could be in hospice and will still win if whoever the shotcaller is allows it.
I guess that rules out Big Mike running.
No one can force Biden to drop out. All he has to do is to show up at the Convention in Chicago to receive his delegates and then he will be nominated.
Failing that, there is the 25th amendment.

Biden could easily die of of something.
I don’t think this settles it. Obama is simply trying to appear as a loyal friend. But if the powers that be want Biden out, they have “ways” to make that happen, no matter what is publicly said.
The main lever of power Biden currently holds over the nomination is the ~$200 Million he still has in his campaign account. A lot of real money has already been invested in his name, and will stay there for the purpose of re-electing Biden, unless Biden himself uses it to support someone else.
