Most people don’t realize the party does not pick the candidate. The voters pick the candidate. Some states only allow party members to vote on their party ticket. Some states allow cross voting, so democratic voters in those states could cross over to the Republican side and vote for a loser candidate as the Republican nominee.
The Democratic party can only pick the candidate if it is too late to have a primary and the voter-picked candidate dies. I’d recommend that Biden hire a food taster and also have someone else taking samples of his meds. He should avoid stairs while with potential replacements.
