KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signaled Wednesday that he is getting tough on officials he suspects are shirking their duties in the war with Russia that is now in its third year.

Zelenskyy and Commander in Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi visited troops in the eastern Donetsk region who have weathered fierce Russian ground and air assaults in recent months. They also discussed with local officials the drinking water supply, social issues, evacuation plans and the rebuilding of local homes, Zelenskyy said.

Funny thing is, his elected term has run out. He has no real authority other than what he granted to himself.

He is a dictator.

You think that Ukraine wrote a law that elections would be delayed when being invaded and under martial law, and that they wrote in that the existing government would dissolve itself at that time and the country be leaderless during the remaining of the war?

It’s a worldwide problem. Government employees don’t work hard enough during peacetime either.

It is quite possible to hold elections. Your type would think it was okay for Biden to escalate war in Ukraine with more US action and then stay in office because well, it is war time.

Those people there get no choice about whether they wish to continue dying in a proxy war with this greedy scoundrel looking out after his own self.

If you had a point you would not have veered off into the senseless personal attack.

You know very well Ukraine didn’t write that law to leave the government vacant during wartime and that the President is still the President, yet that is what you claim they did.

U.S. never missed an election during WW2.

Why would we have? We weren’t a small country being invaded by the world’s second strongest military that was our next door neighbor and destroying our electric grid and turning our cities to rubble.

We did have America’s one and only president for life at the time.

What’s their problem? They’re getting a guaranteed salary paid by American taxpayers. What a bunch of ingrates.
