Burgum continues to be the most consistent surrogate for Trump out on the campaign trail and the one who appears the most on major cable news networks.

I like Burgum but we have to win first and idk, am I the only one who wonders what he brings to the party,electoral college wise?
Burgum, hope he enjoys the debate. Gabbard offers more value as a VP.

Electoral college wise, I'm not sure but it's probably an indirect influence.
If it's Burgum, one thing that comes to mind is that he and Trump are likely to be like-minded coming from billion dollar CEO backgrounds.
That said, Burgum is much more balanced a speaker than Trump and is less tempted to veer off track and say things that give the LAAP-dog media the ammunition they need to attack.
I think Burgum would make a good surrogate to go to states like Nevada and Arizona and speak on President Trump's behalf about what would come from a Trump/Burgum administration, without being a lightning rod for the voters in those states.
Coming from North Dakota, he's probably more known in nearby states like Minnesota and Wisconsin than the rest of us would know (do people know the governors of their own bordering states? How far away from their home states can most people name governors?). So perhaps Burgum can influence voters in the northern swing states like Minnesota and Wisconsin who might know him from regional news reporting.
He's also strong on energy policy with the big North Dakota fracking boom, so maybe Burgum can go to New Mexico and talk about the Permian Basin production that will benefit jobs and the cost of living for New Mexicans? Maybe he can float the idea of reopening talks with Canada about restarting the Keystone Pipeline, too?
If these ideas start to resonate with the voters, it might help President Trump choose who would be a best fit for Energy Secretary (personally, I thought Burgum would be).

Trumps VP choice is not going to change the election based on electoral votes. The choice is already polarized and nobody floated would move the needle on that even in their home state. Trumps VP needs just 2 things.
1. They have to be someone that can be elected in 2028. I am not talking about how they poll today, but they need to be someone that can take the slings and arrows we see pointed at Trump daily because open lawfare is not going away. This is why I dont want Ben Carson or any other R who is described as “nice” in the VP slot.
2. They need to be someone who would help keep Trump alive. Its been 61 years since a President was assassinated, but with as crazy as some of those loons out there are ... I could see them attempt to take out Trump. A VP that they would be afraid to put in the top job is important. It could be because they are so nasty or so stupid. Vance would strike fear in the Dems, but he would fail at the first requirement because he is TOO nasty and would not resonate with a national audience. The Dems are an example of using a stupid one with Kamala ... nobody, even Dems, want someone that stupid as President. To be someone feared ... I think our best bet is to have someone who is an unshakeable conservative that is a proven electable leader. Vivek is not a proven electable leader, Burgum is. Vivek is not an unshakeable conservative either ... he just kinda appeared on the scene and nobody knows if he is a fake Republican. He has no track record. ND may not be big, but Burgum does have a track record as Governor.
Our problem is that there is nobody self-evident that meets both requirements. However, on the whole, I think Burgum has the best average score.

What he brings is gubernatorial experience from an energy producing state, with energy relationships across the border. The Bakken oil fields, leveraging Keystone and working with Canada on joint energy producing opportunities is what Trump excelled at in his first term.
Having Burgum as VP would be critical for energy policy, which will lower oil prices, meaning gas prices, meaning food prices. We would also get to refill the oil reserves that Biden wiped out.
That’s what we get from Burgum. When you think about it, who would bring more to the table than he?
