I don’t think I’d blame this on the police rank and file. Politicians and police leadership, to what level I don’t know, get the credit for this near pogrum.
Oh, I’m not blaming them, even the leadership.
That’s just the net effect of their least-intrusive peacekeeping protocol.
If some of these protestors had to actually face the consequences of their ‘free speech’ now and then, there’d be a lot less of this anti-social/anti-civilization nonsense.
This isn’t even free speech issue, leading to constructive discussiona and debate - this is just societal destruction.
I also would not blame rank and file either...I would blame the supervisors...
Those protestors have to be kept away from Jewish people trying to enter the temple...
Maybe LAPD is afraid of Hamas protesters suing the City of Los Angeles...For violating their First Amendment rights...By making them stay too far from the Jewish temple...
