Hamas leaders are planning to leave Qatar for Iraq, due to Washington's insistence that Qatar increase pressure on the terror group to agree to a prisoner swap deal.
According to The National, the Iraqi government has approved the move, as well as the opening of new Hamas offices in Baghdad.
The report noted that Iran will take responsibility for the safety of the Hamas officials in Iraq.
In recent weeks, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh held talks with officials in Iran and Iraq, consulting about that matter, which United Arab Emirates reports say is expected to come to fruition.

Qatar is a city that rivals any western one.
Iraq…..nope. Erbil is really nice and really safe, minus Iranian missiles. The rear of the country may have some spots that are ok but overall, nothing like Qatar.
And Qatar, like a few other ME countries, has a world class hospital with western educated and trained doctors. I’m not see that in Baghdad. The medevac plane must constantly be crewed and idling.

The fact that Iran says this doesn’t mean that they’re in control of Iraq. Last I checked, Muqtada ElSadr was a big disappointment for them. They groomed him and schooled him, and then sent him to do their bidding in Iraq, and instead he teamed up with Ali Sistani, Khamenei’s chief rival among the clerics, and together they set out to weaken Iran’s influence. So their saying it doesn’t mean that they even intend to do it. It’s win/win/win for everyone if these bastards take a dirt nap. The Mullahs can blame it on Muqtada and Sistani and claim that they are in cahoots with Mossad.
